Earth Day hit an important 40th anniversary this year on April 22, and there was plenty of green-minded staff and attendees celebrating the planet at Naperville’s Holiday Inn Select.

The environment’s concern is becoming a huge part in people’s lives, in which I went over to Naperville, Illinois to lend a hand in helping our Earth become a better place.

Holiday Inn’s “Going Green” committee, Department Chair Anna Mattson and her team put together the celebration starting out at Naperville’s Seager Park. For two hours, we collected eight trash bags or garbage. more…

Earth Day is approaching us and you are still wondering what you can do to help out your fellow planet. Come out and join us at the Holiday Inn Select located in Naperville, Illinois, in an Earth Day Celebration Luncheon. The luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 22nd from 11:30am until 1:00 pm located in the Grand Ballroom.

In celebration of Earth Day 2010 they will be planting a tree following the luncheon, and in addition to Earth Day, April 22 is also “Take Your Child to Work Day” so please feel free to bring your child to the luncheon!

The staff at the Holiday Inn Select located in Naperville has been working away these past few months in raising money for the American Red Cross in helping the Haiti relief efforts. Twice in the month of February, employees at the Holiday Inn were allowed to wear jeans for a minimum donation of $5 each time. They collected a total of $310, which was the most ever donated during their Jeans Day! All the money raised went to the Red Cross for the Haiti relief efforts. Along with, $56.11 in change was also donated from their water fountain. more…
