As of today, Portfolio has managed a total of five Green Seal certified hotels, and currently there are only 81 certified hotels in the world (as per listing on the Green Seal website) representing 6% of all Green Seal certified hotels. We are excited to announce that the Inns of Monterey have been awarded Green Seal Silver level certification. With this certification the Inns of Monterey has proven its dedication to environmental stewardship. 

The Green Seal Standard for Hotels and Lodging Properties is one of the most robust environmental standards in the hospitality industry. In order to receive certification, a hotel must meet and adhere to stringent guidelines set out by the standard. These include requirements in waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, wastewater management and green procurement. Finally the weather was starting to turn yesterday for Memorial Day here throughout Chicago!
